3 Gifts Heard #1000Gifts

1 January  2015

The steady CLEAR breathing of my toddler as she lays cradled in my arms. So soft, so warm, so content to be close to me. She’s had so much congestion and weird nose/chest sickness and for these few moments, she’s clear, and resting, and content. Praise be to God!

There is so much LIFE; how did I not see it before? Kids are masters at energy expending and are tiny bundles of LIFE. And these two… They play, they hug, they cry, they push and shove, they love… and when they choose to really play – to laugh and run and scream and jump and sing and twirl together… it’s the most beautiful of sounds to my ears. I can’t thank God enough.

{and I can’t help but grin when the tiny one gives me a wary look bc older sister is acting a fool}

Times are scary these days. I know no one who has life easy. And then it gets tighter and tighter and you feel like a spring wound up and one day there’s some relief and you relax and let some air out… and that same day bad news comes and the tightness grows again and you wonder if this is the day you will break in half and prayerfully you turn on music and it’s not the answer you expected but it was the encouragement you needed. The reminder of Who’s in control and what you need to do (which is praise, always praise. In the midst of everything and anything, praise.)

    I love this so very, very much. And I needed this reminder to be grateful.

    Children are amazing. Anybody’s children. I work in the nursery at church and man – best job in the world. Babies to be held everywhere!

  3. I love that softness and warmth of little ones, too. My nieces and nephew (& great grandson) just filled my heart with happy goodness when I was lucky enough to hold them.

    I also really like the way you captured the emotions in that last part. Keep breathing. Hang in there. Amazing.
